Unique to Jefferson County

Goat Island

Based on local history, the island known as Goat Island in Jefferson County, WI (specifically in the Jefferson area) gained its name and reputation in the 1960s and 70s when the Kayla family kept goats there. The island has served as a local recreational spot, and in recent years, it has been managed by the “Friends of Goat Island | Jefferson WI – Facebook” group.
